Carbon Utility Token Runs Software on Meridian DLT
The Carbon Utility Token is on a journey to reduce the carbon footprint of its technology stack. Since the beginning of the project, we have tracked, measured and offset CUT’s contribution to ethereum mainnet carbon footprint. In 2023, Ethereum 2.0 will be released which will replace the Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism with a Proof of Stake strategy. This will remove the need for power hungry miners, and instead will rely on validators who will stake eth as collateral to secure the network. Ethereum 2.0 is expected to reduce the entire network’s energy consumption by 99.95% in just a few months after launch.
